Welcome to our new President, Diana Smith
The Rydal Penrhos Society AGM took place on Friday 18 November at the Royal Oak Hotel, Betws-y-Coed. At this meeting, Philip Reid handed over the Presidency of the Society to Diana (Wildblood) Smith. Diana attended Penrhos College from 1961-67 and has a long family history with the school.
The AGM was followed by the North Wales Dinner, where over 50 people enjoyed a wonderful five course meal before Christine (Gething) Brown (PC 1943-50) prosposed the toast to the School and the Society. Diana replied on behalf of the Society, and Headmaster, Patrick Lee-Browne replied on behalf of the School, with Head Boy, Thomas Warrington, speaking about life at Rydal Penrhos today. Ray Pye (RS 1951-61) then entertained the room with two beautiful songs.
Diana is looking forward to her year as President, and thanked Philip Reid for all the hard work and dedication that he has given to the Society over the past year.
Thanks must also go to Rachael (Hughes) Evans who organised the dinner.
