A surprise visit for an Old Penrhosian!
Grace Hill-Bailey (Penrhos 1950-1954) returned to Colwyn Bay for a surprise trip organised by her family for her 75th birthday, and popped in to Rydal Penrhos to see us.
Grace enjoyed looking around the site, immediately recognising the stainedglass windows in our reception area which have come from the Penrhos Chapel. There were more familiar stained glass windows to see as she walked around the campus, as well as a painting of former Penrhos Headmistress, Rosa Hovey, and many Penrhos school photographs. To complete her visit, we were able to show Grace items from the 1950’s at Penrhos, including a tennis racket, school hat, uniform, raincoat, and house scarves. These brought back lots of memories, for Grace, especially as some of the items contained the name tapes of one of her former class mates!
If you would like to come and see the school as it is today, and relive some of your memories, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. Contact Sarah on 01492 539736 or SJRitchie@rydal-penrhos.com
